    New Playground Coming Soon

    The Meadows Board of Directors recently approved plans to update the playground/tot lot. The updated playground area will include equipment designed for children up to age 12, including a new tire climbing area, a climbing wall and a second slide. There will be more interactive components on the new structure than what we currently have. Older children will still enjoy the monkey bars.     The Meadows pool is open as of July 1. This year is not like any other year at the pool.     Seeking Volunteers to be Green Guardian Angels

    There’s a lot of planting taking place in the Meadows these days. Several young sapling trees have been planted, and new grass seeding followed sidewalk repairs and new fences.  New trees, bushes and grass all extra attention and careful watering in order to take root and succeed.     Landscaping Schedule

    The B&G committee has received a few questions about the lawn care and pruning schedule. Here’s a summary of the grounds maintenance schedule for the Meadows. Fairlington Meadows contracts with Lancaster Landscapes to care for our lawns, bushes, and flower beds.  From April to November, Lancaster will mow and trim turf every seven to 10 days, depending on rain and other weather conditions.     Lawn Treatment Goes All-Natural and Non-Toxic

    The Buildings and Grounds Committee wants to let all residents know that under the new landscaping contract, no chemical herbicides or pesticides can be used on the lawns. The new organic treatment plan consists of two spring applications of a reduced-risk bio herbicide to target broadleaf weeds. One application occurred the second week of May.
