• Fairlington Meadows is a condominium association located on the southernmost tip of Arlington County, Virginia.

The housing units within the Meadows were originally built in the early 1940s by the Federal government. They were converted into condominium housing in the early 1970s. There are several condominium associations that comprise the entire area of Fairlington, including Fairlington Meadows. The other condominium associations are called Fairlington Arbor, Commons, Glen, Green, Mews and Villages. The entire Fairlington area is listed on the National Register for Historic Places.

Fairlington Meadows consists of 342 residential units in 57 buildings located in 15 courts on 22 acres of land. The buildings and acreage are landscaped and the neighborhood features tree-lined streets.

There are 10 different layouts of residential units and they are named after areas within the county. The 10 units are called Braddock, Braddock End, Barcroft, Barcroft End, Edgewood, Edgewood End, Clarendon, Clarendon End, Dominion and Arlington.

In addition to residential units, the Fairlington Meadows property includes a large swimming pool with lap lanes that is typically open from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. A separate kiddie pool is also within the pool enclosure along with restrooms and shower facilities. A bicycle rack is positioned outside the entryway during the swimming pool season.

  • Other recreational facilities available to residents include two tennis courts, a basketball court and a children’s playground and picnic table. A Little Free Library, where residents can make use of a free book exchange, is located at the playground.

The neighborhood Arlington Public Schools include Abingdon Elementary School, Gunston Middle School and Wakefield High School.

The condominium association is run by an elected five-member Board of Directors, which meets monthly. The day-to-day maintenance of the buildings and grounds is overseen by a contracted property management company.

Fairlington Meadows is adjacent to the Fairlington Community Center and Park, which houses six multi-purpose rooms, art studios, a gymnasium, fitness facilities and public Wi-Fi. The park includes a children’s playground, amphitheater, basketball courts, a fitness trail, a gazebo with a charcoal grill and a playing field that is typically used for soccer.
