You’re not the only one who wants a day or two off this holiday season. Capitol Services, the company that picks up our trash and recycling is going to be closed on Tuesday, December 25th and Tuesday, January 1st.
What that means is that there will be no trash pick-up on Christmas and on New Year’s Day, both of which are on Tuesdays.
It also means that recycling will shift from a Wednesday pick-up to a Thursday pick-up for two consecutive weeks due to the holiday. The barrels will be placed curbside on Wednesday, December 26th for pick-up on Thursday, December 27th. And the recycling barrels will be placed curbside on Wednesday, January 2nd for pick-up on Thursday, January 3rd.
If you’ve got a Christmas tree, Capitol Services will be picking up trees that are placed curbside on January 3, 8,10, 15 and 17. Please mark your calendar for Christmas tree disposal for any of those dates.
